ABSTRACT

When a medical professional hears the word "depression", the first thought that often comes to mind is serotonin.  In fact, most clinicians interpret depression as a monoamine neurotransmitter imbalance, making serotonin, dopamine and/or adrenaline the primary targets for most conventional, first-line antidepressant treatments.
